Retired and Senior Adult Lunch
The retired and senior adult lunch is a monthly time of food, fellowship and entertainment. Lunches are held at noon on the second Tuesday of every month in the Fellowship Hall. The $6.00 cost includes lunch and the program. Programs vary monthly and include music, magic, interpretive programs and motivational talks. Reservations are required.
This ministry for widows is an opportunity for widows to talk, listen, share and enjoy the company of others who understand the many things they are going through. The group gets together 6-8 times a year for lunch and fellowship. For more information, contact the church office.
Senior Adult Trips
A major trip is taken every fall for 5-7 days. Recent destinations have included Charleston, Boston and Mackinac Island.
In-home ministry to those unable to attend church regularly.
The HUGG Ministry is a pastoral care ministry of St. Matthews Baptist Church. The HUGG Ministry began in 1983 as a way of caring for those in our congregation who are less mobile and therefore unable to attend church services regularly. It is the kind of ministry which is often called “homebound ministry,” but we prefer to designate persons who are physically limited as “HUGG Friends.”
If you wish to be a “HUGGer” or know of someone who needs to be “HUGGed,” contact the church office.
