You care a lot about what your child eats, when your child sleeps, how your child interacts with other people, and how your child grows! We understand! We, too, care about all those things AND how your child is growing in their knowledge and love of God. We also understand that children learn in many ways. Therefore St. Matthews Baptist Church provides many programs to meet the spiritual need of young families. Throughout all ministry events and classes, our goal is to provide a safe, secure place where children want to learn about God, Jesus, the Bible, the Church, nature, their family, other people, and of course, themselves! We provide hands-on learning experiences and excel at loving children so they can feel safe to love themselves, other people, and God.
Luke 2:52 tells us that Jesus increased in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and other people. The Preschool & Kindergarten Ministry provides activities through which the child (and child’s family) can grow physically, cognitively, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. Our desire is to help your child grow like Jesus.
Mark 10:13-16 portrays a beautiful picture of parents bringing children to Jesus so he could hold them, hug them, teach them, and bless them. We seek to be a place where parents will want to bring their children so that together we can hold them, hug them, teach them, and bless them. We seek to be like Jesus.

What Happens in Sunday School?
From the moment a child is greeted each Sunday morning, teachers will be focused on helping each child to experience God’s love. Each week children will hear a Bible story. Crafts will be completed that accommodate the Bible story. Engaging activities will enable each child to assimilate the Bible truth into his or her life. Friends will be made. Fun will be had. Learning will happen. Come join us!
What Happens in WorshipCare?
Our WorshipCare is designed to be a smooth transition from Sunday School. Teachers will move out of the room once WorshipCare leaders are in place. The Bible lesson from Sunday School will continue to be the Bible theme as the WorshipCare leaders continue to love, care and teach our children. While WorshipCare is intentionally designed as a follow-up to Sunday School, we realize that some of our children will not have been in Sunday School. The Bible story is taught in a different way than in Sunday School. Activities and crafts will also be different. And, children will engage in a lot of play!
